Links for 6th grade essential question

Essential Question: Describe fascism, communism, nationalism, liberalism, and conservatism.

As we discussed in class, you'll need one paragraph for each ideology. We've already completed the rough drafts for fascism, communism, and nationalism. This weekend, you'll write rough drafts for liberalism and conservatism.

Here are some links to help you write and improve your descriptions:
Modern History Sourcebook: fascism, nationalism
Wikipedia's definition of liberalism, conservatism
msn encarta communism

Remember that the paragraph (one for each ideology) should include the following:
-topic sentence that tells the definition of the ideology
-2 to 3 detail sentences that explain the definition (try giving a real example of it from history)
-a concluding sentence

You've known about it, so here's the due date: Tuesday, Feb. 24th. I'll be giving you a rubric in class on Friday. Keep in mind that this is a persuasive essay. I know your language textbook has information on how to write persuasive essays. Use the index to help you find the section. Click here for the rubric in case you left it at school.

Here are some useful sites - please make sure your parents are ok with you accessing YouTube.
